FYI SPOILERS FOR CRUEL PRINCE

Yes, my first post is a hate post. It is just that the amount of hate I have for this character boils over every single time his name is on the page. LOCKE. The hate I have for him. He’s like narcissistic. Like he finds joy in straight up stirring turmoil for the Duarte’s (especially main girl Jude). What in his right mind possesses him to do that? Quite literally! From the beginning of the book, I hated him. Along with Cardan, Nicasia, and the other guy (good riddance to him, ew). I get they are supposed to be the antagonist, so you’re supposed to hate them, but Locke and the other guy took it to a whole ‘nother level. The other guy (ig we can give him his name… Valerian or something 😐 ) had been planning to KILL HER since day one! EXCUSE ME! Repulsed. Repulsion.
Anyways, back to Locke.
Just because he wants to play good guy one time doesn’t mean jack. Conniving. Sums him up easily. Him saying that being friends with them is a pleasure????? …. You’re in it for benefits. Being friends with THE prince and a princess screams benefits, especially if you’re dating said princess. Like… What? You’re joking. You think I’m a fool. And that’s exactly what he thought of those girls. Cause you wouldn’t play with them if you didn’t. He wouldn’t try to give Jude his mom’s emeralds but then turn around and GET WITH HER SISTER! UGHHHHHHHHHHHH! What is wrong with him? He was clearly into her (ehhhhhh..) but then turned around and did this mess?! IS a screw loose? Is everything not up there? Or what is it? Are you a fox? Snake? Lying. lizard. that. LIES?! I can’t stand him. He wanted this girl to cry when she found out he was engaged to Taryn. He has no heart. He has no soul. Like he can’t. Just because you’re “good-looking” doesn’t mean jack. Just because you are friends with, again, THE PRINCE and your ex is a literal water princess doesn’t mean jack. It doesn’t mean anything. Actually, he can just take himself out with the trash.
As my second read of Cruel Prince, this hatred ain’t leaving. No way in the world. Cause his actions are tomfoolery. But on a good note, you should really read Cruel Prince. It was my 3rd physical book I ever got. And I do need to read it more. I’ve become a slow reader, and I don’t like that. The doomscrolling got to me. Which is particularly why I started this. To get back to writing and get off that dang phone. It’s nice to have an activity again
